Chinese and American Dining Preferences Presentation

Gah okay so I did not get a chance to blog this past weekend as I said. Sorry! It's been a bit crazy with a paper, quiz and final exam this week. The final for the first part of our intensive Chinese class (LC311) is tomorrow and classes only started two Monday's ago. Ah! So no more blogging tonight, but here is the PowerPoint I made comparing Chinese and American Dining Preferences for my pop culture class.

Impressions of Shanghai Presentation

Okay, I've been kind of bad about updating this blog.  Sorry!  Things have been a bit hectic with our intensive Chinese class, which basically squishes two semesters worth of Chinese into half a semester.  I actually don't have time right now to write my long overdue post about what I've been up to for the past three weeks here.  Hopefully, I will get to do that this weekend along with uploading my photos.  For now, check out this PowerPoint deck I made for my Chinese pop culture class:

The Great Firewall

I am in Shanghai! I found out today that in China, wordpress.com blogs are blocked :-p , so I will be unable to update my main blog: chriskwan.wordpress.com while I am here. Blogger is also blocked, but apparently blogspot is not, so here I am! I should really pay for some webhosting and run a wordpress blog off of that, but now I get to have one of those trendy < (name + in/at) / (cultural catch phrase) > + .  . blogs dedicated completely to my study abroad experience in Shanghai. I'll import everything back into wordpress later maybe.

I need to go to sleep now so I can get up early for the busy day tomorrow. I will write posts about my first 3 days here soon, but for now enjoy this Photosynth of my pictures from the Bund aka Waitan area in Shanghai (must be viewed in Internet Explorer, but IE8 RC1 is actually pretty good): http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=45f48f1f-d8ed-4469-87c1-40932f3cc8e1
